Astrid Bowlby, a Visiting Critic in the Certificate/BFA program has been selected amongst a few other artists to be acquired by the West Collection for the West Collects 2012.
This year's judge was appointed faculty member Peter Van Dyck.
First Prize Winner is Alina Osipov
Second Prize Winner is Grace Isabel
The competition is generously funded each year by an alum who is very proud of PAFA and her students.
The Stewardson has just ended, A three day competition, a total of 18 hours.
The Judge this year, was sculptor Richard Blake.
The winner is Lucian Goff from the Lyme Academy. Congratulations Lucian!
On May 11, the renowned painter, printmaker and public sculptor Audrey Flack will deliver the Commencement address at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), and at that time will also be awarded an honorary doctorate degree.
On view in the Alumni Sales Gallery are works by sculptor Stephen Layne (’94) and painter Carrie Mae Smith (‘05).
The Joan Mitchell Foundation has announced the twenty-five recipients of its 2011 grant program for painters and sculptors. Each winner, chosen by artists, curators, and arts educators via a jury review, will receive $25,000.
