Stuart Shils

Critic, Cert/BFA/Continuing Ed, Cert/BFA/Continuing Ed

Stuart Shils is a native of Philadelphia and has exhibited in New York, Philadelphia, Tel Aviv, Boston, San Francisco and Cork, Ireland. Shils’ critical review has appeared in many papers and journals, including the NY Times, Ha’aretz, artCritical.com, the New Yorker, Art in America, among others.

He teaches master classes at PAFA and other national venues. Shils has taught the master class at the Jerusalem Studio School summer program in Italy and was visiting artist for the JSS Landscape Marathon in Jerusalem in 2004 & 2005

Between 1994 and 2006 he spent summers on the northwest coast of Ireland, initially through the invitation of the Ballinglen Arts Foundation. These painting campaigns are described in the PBS film documentary, Ballycastle. His paintings are represented by Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects in New York and his monotypes are represented by Davis and Langdale, also in New York.

Stuart is a Critic in the Certificate/BFA program and teaches Master Classes in the Continuing Education program.
