Peter Van Dyck
Appointed Faculty – Assistant Professor, Cert/BFA/Continuing Ed
Peter Van Dyck was born in Philadelphia in 1978. After attending a liberal arts college for a year he moved to Florence, where he spent four years studying painting and drawing at the Florence Academy of Art. He began teaching drawing at the Florence Academy in 2000. He returned to Philadelphia in 2002 to paint independently and began exhibiting his work in Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco.
Van Dyck has had solo shows at Eleanor Ettinger Gallery, John Pence Gallery, the Grenning Gallery and the Artists' House Gallery. Group shows include the Wendt Gallery, the More Gallery and The Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware. He also teaches as a guest instructor at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.
Van Dyck teaches courses in Perspective Drawing, Cast Drawing, Animal Drawing and Life Painting in the Certificate/BFA program. He also teaches courses in the Continuing Education program.
