School Events

We kicked off the Spring Semester with some very popular events. Students enjoyed volunteering at Germantown Friends School on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Among the many options available to students were baking cookies for local homeless shelters and recording stories for the blind. It was a good day!
We then hit the ground running in early February with our 4th annual Winter Bash, Red Cross Blood Drive and Open Studio Night. Students danced half the night, saved around 150 lives with their blood donations and then showed off their hard work in studio to almost 800 members of the public - all in the space of two weeks! PAFA students are an energetic bunch!
Coming up is the ever popular Drawathon (a marathon 12-hour overnight drawing session in the Cast Hall) and what is promising to become a popular tradition – the 2nd annual six-foot sub day. And of course, we have weekly workshops on any art-related topic you can imagine: from copyright laws, to how to price your work, to relaxation techniques during finals – we think your PAFA student will find something to do outside of class! Check out the calendar for more information!
Student Exhibitions

Currently on show:

Located in the Samuel M. V. Hamilton building, Gallery 128 displays rotating exhibitions that include works by students enrolled in the Certificate, BFA, Graduate, and Continuing Education programs.  Exhibitions of work by faculty and alumni are also shown in Gallery 128. Overseen by student staff, the gallery provides invaluable experience for students by introducing them to the process of selecting works for submitting to exhibitions.

Currently you can see work reflecting PAFA students' responses to the Tanner Show.
Health and Wellness

We have a contract with Jefferson Family Medicine Associates, allowing students free visits to a large clinic and providing basic services and tests for free. This is a great system and students take full advantage of it every semester. Students should call 215-955-7190 to make an appointment.

Is your PAFA student feeling stressed? Our student counseling service through Penn Behavioral Health offers a wide range of counselors to address all issues. It’s free and completely confidential.

Click here to go to our Health and Wellness Pages to find contact information for the above services.
