Pre-College and High School Student Programs

Fall / Spring Pre-College Programs:

A valuable opportunity for teens to develop and hone their skills under the guidance of PAFA faculty.  Open to high school students in 9th - 12th grades.  All levels welcome.

Since 1994, PAFA has provided students (grades 9-12) from more than 50 public, charter and parochial schools in Philadelphia with access to studio art training.  The program provides a solid footing in studio art for students who have little or no access to an art program.

PAFA's Museum Education Department is proud to premier this new program to give teens a prominent place in the daily life of the museum.  Consisting of  a Youth Council and a variety of free events, the LEAD program offers teens the opportunity to organize museum events for their peers, meet PAFA staff and see behind-the-scenes work in museums, represent PAFA in the STAMP program, and much more!

Summer Pre-College Programs:

A four-week, multi-discipline pre-college art making experience in the nation's first and premier school of fine art.  Includes studio art classes, field trips, and extensive portfolio preparation and information about applying to art school or college.

These condensed courses offer teens the valuable opportunity to develop their skills in drawing, painting and more.  Open to high school students entering, or having just completed, 9th - 12th grades.  All levels welcome.

Students in grades 8 and below should consider PAFA's Museum Education Programs, which offer classes and activities for families and children up to age 15.  Programs include Art Camps, Family Classes and Teen Programs.  For more information about Museum Education Programs, complete an online request form or call 215-972-2054 (Art Camps) / 215-391-4806 (Teen and Family Programs).
